=BFB= laRd Call it a Day... of Duty PDF Print E-mail

2010 Kicked off with a bang for =BFB= laRd. Managing to get seeded 3rd for the first leg of the Call of Duty 4 Premier League. After a long period of inactivity, laRd started the leg excited and looking for some wins!

However Battlefield Bad Company 2 and its Beta would distract the laRd players during the course of the leg. After two and a half years of playing Call of Duty 4. The =BFB= laRd side has decided to call it a day. Loosing all 3 remaining games against sG, Brazen and Pantheon bumped the laRd side down to 5th place in the league. With 3 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses laRd has walked away from Call of Duty 4 for good.

Thanks must be made for all the thrills and spills that this team, this line-up has gone through. Starting from humble beginnings to being one of the strongest sides in South African Call of Duty 4.

Aiming ahead though, the laRd players have been drafted into FlaBBeR and the thirst for victory needs to be quenched.

=BFB= laRd manages to take second place at the 2009 rAge Call of Duty 4 Finals. After an extremely intense tournament, laRd was unable to best Brazen on crash, narrowly losing the game, 11 - 13.

As a team that went into the event with very little practise, and having had numerous technical problems building up the event. Reaching the grand final was nothing short of fantastic! =BFB= laRd realistically expected to place top three, and our goal was always to reach the final! Playing out the group stages laRd did not lose a game, beating FuBar. 16 - 8 on mp_citystreets to top the group. Going into the knock-out stages =BFB= laRd would play against UBS.ST in their first game in the double elimination bracket!

Could laRd Take a Medal? PDF Print E-mail

Prem League Score Table

As the AGASA COD4 Leg 3 is drawing to close, laRd could possibly take a medal!

The table does not reflect the two extra win's that =BFB= laRd has managed to garner against UBS.ST and [1st]Alpha, meaning that we are currently sitting on 16 points.

Looking at all the games that have yet to be played, eG have only A*P and DRK left to play, we can say quite safely they will best DRK and with the win against ST they will be sitting on 17 points, if they beat A*P they will be sitting on 19 points and be out of reach of the laRd lineup meaning they will take 2nd place.

A*P on the other hand have to play 3 tough games to close out the league, they have miNt, eG and 1st left to play if they win all three games that will put them on 19 points as well also out of reach of the laRd lineup.

laRd has only one game left, so at worst they will finish on 16 points. So how will it all play out?

The last week was the quietest week for laRd since the beginning of all three tournaments this season. They played the UbS Wehrmacht and Saints (twice) teams with mixed results. The team thrashed Wehrmacht 23 -1 in the premiere league, but then went down heavily to Saints in both their Premiere league match and BOTC double elimination knockout match, losing 17-7 on District and 13-4 on Backlot respectively. WP to Saints: the team has shown some remarkable improvement over the last few months and are definitely one of the teams to watch in all three competitions currently running.

After losing to this team 13 - 11 in the iGame Tournament, on the same map, the boys wanted payback!

It started with BFB winning the knife round and electing to defend first. Our defense was pretty solid but their attack was strong and at half time it was 6 - 6.
After some team talk and a little stratting at half time, our attack was awesome and BFB managed to win the game at 13 - 10. So much excitement was storming through us that we lost the last round but, nevertheless, we still won.

The final score was 13-11.

Special mentions to Bambi for controlling mid like a animal and to the rest of the team, well played.

Some other results from the past week:

laRd 6 - 18 eG (AGASA Premiere League)
laRd 13 - 11 miNt (BOTCv2)
laRd 20 - 4 colon P (iGame Intel League)
laRd 12 - 12 eG (BOTCv2)
